One area of Kizoodle we get a lot questions about is the KIZ STORE and the process of KIZOODLING. Here's what it is and how it works:
What is the Kiz Store?
One of the most exciting and unique features of Kizoodle is the member’s ability to exchange (Kizoodle) kids and mom stuff they list at the Kiz Store. You can post your kids clothes, toys, and mom stuff you no longer want or need and at the same time exchange items from other members from across the country that will fit your kids or pique your interest.
It’s unique because unlike other buy/sell sites you do not exchange money, you swap your stuff for credits we call Kiz Credits.
What is a Kiz Credit?
A Kiz Credit is the “currency” members of Kizoodle use to “Swap then Shop” meaning you swap your items for Kiz credits and exchange Kiz Credits for other items of your choice found on the site using the Kiz Credits. Think of 1 Kiz Credit to be a value of about $1. Remember, Kiz Credits have no value outside of Kizoodle!
What is Kizoodling?
With Kizoodle’s method of item exchange you are no longer constrained by the traditional concept of swapping my item for your item. In the Kizoodle community, you exchange your item for Kiz Credits to anyone who is a member and then shop for any listed item nationwide using the Kiz Credits as currency. That is the essence of Kizoodling. It’s not truly swapping nor is it selling: Kizoodling is the middle ground.
We think the process provides a fresh and cost effective alternative way of gaining access to stuff for your kids as they grow while getting rid of the things they have outgrown. And we can’t forget to mention Kizoodling is really fun and a great way to make new friends!!
How do I get Kiz Credits?
There are two ways you receive Kiz Credits.
1) By Kizoodling your listed item to another Kizoodle member. You name your price (in Kiz Credits)! When the transaction is complete the Recipient (Buyer) acknowledges receipt of the item and you get a deposited in your Kiz bank the amount of credits requested for the item and shipping.
2) Refer new members! (more on that below).
How do I list an Item to be Kizoodled in the Kiz Store?
After you have signed up and agreed to the terms of use for the Kiz Store, simply click on My Kiz Store from the My Kizoodle drop down menu. Once there click the Add Item button.
Who pays for the shipping?
The Contributor (Seller)… sort of.
When a Contributor lists an item they will have already chosen an acceptable shipping option(s) and payment amounts via Kiz Credits to cover their actual shipping costs.
So, the Contributor does pay for the shipping in a true sense but they are rewarded Kiz Credits from the Recipient (Buyer) to set off this cost.
All Contributors are also Recipients. One day, as a Contributor, you will pay the shipping fees and another day when you choose to recieve an item someone else pays the shipping fees.
THE SHIPPING COST IS THE ONLY TIME A MEMBER SPENDS REAL MONEY.
What are my Obligations as a Contributor (Seller)?
The Kiz Store has a couple policies to ensure a satisfactory experience for its members. As a Contributor please remember:
1) Once your item has been Kizoodled (exchanged for Kiz Credits) you always ship the item within 5 business days of the transaction date and if you believe it may take longer please contact the recipient (buyer) and let them know. (This is the Golden Rule and is expected of all members.)
2) Be accurate and truthful when listing your items to be Kizoodled. If they show a little wear say so and price (via Kiz credit request) accordingly.
Members rate each other’s transactions! If you aren’t a nice member your account could be terminated.
How do I shop in the Kiz Store?
OK. You have accumulated some Kiz Credits in your Kizoodle bank. Now it’s time to go shopping! (Wait, did you post at least one item. Was it kizoodled "purchased"? As a new member, the community requires you to complete a transaction before you can “buy” items. So when an item of yours gets kizoodled – mail it! Get it to that member ASAP! Once they receive it you will get the credits you ask for the item & shipping plus any credits your already have (if you were referred) will be activated and you are NOW FREE TO SHOP!! On Kizoodle, all Contributors must also be Recipients. Hey’ it keeps the Kiz Credits flowing in to your bank which gives you more purchasing power and keeps you in good standing with the community.
Kizoodled (Sold & Shipped) at least one of your items posted? Great. Let’s go shopping.
Click the “Go Shopping” link. Here you find the items available for exchange. You can browse down the screen manually or search using the search pull-down options on the top of the page.
Once you have found something you want. Check the amount of Kiz credits requested for the item and shipping (Do you have enough Kiz Credits saved up in your Kizoodle bank?).
If the price is right, then choose the shipping option available that you want and then just click the “Exchange Kiz Credits + shipping” button at the bottom of the page, verify the exchange, and presto! Wait by the mailbox and it shall arrive on in the proscribed time.
What Are My Obligations as a Recipient (Buyer)?
The Kiz Store has a couple policies to ensure a satisfactory experience for its members. As a Recipient please remember:
1) Once you receive your item in the mail. You must immediately update the transaction status in “My Kiz Store” so the Contributor gets their owed Kiz Credits. Just find the item in your list (should be the color red) and update it.
2) When you update the item transaction status you will also rate the Contributor. Do not rate them down unless your have serious concerns. Treat others as you would like to be treated! On the flipside, giving kudos to your fellow members is always appreciated.
$$$$$ The New Member Referral Program $$$$$
A new option to earn Kiz Credits will be available starting 7/31 at about 7am PST. This program will help existing members earn new Kiz Credits and at the same time bring new members to Kizoodle. New members means more items posted and more folks to meet and socialize with. It is the best of all worlds!
How it works:
All existing members have been assigned a unique referral code located next to your Kiz Bank information on MY KIZ STORE page. This code belongs to you and nobody else! Your referral code is used to reward you when new members you refer sign up to use the Kiz Store.
Your referral code is a new member's Promotional Code! If they input your code when they first sign up to the Kiz Store they will get an additional 2 Kiz Credits. That's a great incentive for a new member to input YOUR referral/promotional code.
For each new member who signs up and uses your code and then posts and COMPLETES, as a Contributor, a transaction with another member you will receive 1 Kiz Credit in your Kiz Bank.
An example, if a referred member posts 7 items and they are kizoodled by other members and those members receive the items you will get 7 Kiz credits (one credit for each successful transaction).
You do not get referral credits when a referred member is the Recipient of the kizoodle. Only as the Contributor! For each member you refer you can amass a maximum total of 15 Kiz Credits.
These credits are available as soon as they appear in your account.
As you can see, if you refer 10 members who end up kizoodling 15 items apiece – You would have been rewarded 150 Kiz Credits!
You can see how many Kiz Credits you have accumulated by successful referral transactions over time as this information will be listed right under your Kiz Bank Totals in MY KIZ STORE.
Suggestions for getting referrals:
A basic way is to use our “Refer a Friend” button. After you are logged in, you simply send your friend an email telling them to try out the Kizoodle. Your referral code will be automatically presented to the friend as a promotional code that will give them 2 extra credits for signing up as a little incentive to try Kizoodle.
Contact Moms Groups/Clubs and let them know about Kizoodle and your Promotional Code so their members can get extra credits when they sign up.
Bulletin boards at schools, gyms, activity centers, etc. usually allow flyers to be posted. Just don't forget you Promotional Code!
Other Parent related websites, chat forums, etc. (This is a very effective way to get referrals).
One word of caution: NEVER email directly to people who you do not know! This is spamming and is illegal in many states.
